Martin Hardie scored his second of the game against local rivals Raith Rovers at East End Park. Footage from the stands catches one gentleman in the background say in reference to the Rovers wall.
“Get them back ref, get them back. That’s never 10 yards.”
The referee, George Salmond does not move the aforementioned line of players. That does not stop the midfielder getting the ball up and over the defenders but also down and past Andrew McNeil, who was between the sticks.
That goal, which turned out to be the winner put Dunfermline four points ahead of the Kirkcaldy outfit, in the race for the Division One title. The Pars went on to win promotion and play in the Premier League for the first time in five seasons.
