Once again the Pars pull out the Tangerines in cup competition

Championship outfits Dunfermline Athletic and Dundee United will once again come to loggerheads in out of league competition as they were drawn together in the Irn-Bru Cup.

The Pars made the quarter-finals – to be played over the weekend of the 12/13th of November at East End Park – thanks to second half substitute Farid El Alagui netting a brace against League One Queen’s Park to win 2-1 at home.

Ray Mackinnon’s side are also just two wins away from the final as Tony Andreu headed the only goal past Stranraer’s Cameron Belford with 22 minutes to spare at Stair Park.

Other ties include the Welsh Champions The New Saints will repeat the journey up to Scotland to face Livingston who eliminated Crusaders. Another interdivisional matchup between St. Mirren – under new management – versus Ayr United. Then rounding it out Queen of the South host Alloa Athletic. Both teams knocked out competitors from Northern Ireland and Cymru respectively in the fourth round.
